Medical Devices

UNFPA ensures that the medical devices procured comply with international quality standards recommended by the WHO and the Global Harmonization Task Force (GHTF), a body that encourages international convergence in regulatory practices related to ensuring the safety, effectiveness, and quality of medical devices.

When purchasing Medical Devices, as well as for any other category of products, UNFPA always follows the principles of the United Nation’s procurement; fairness, integrity and transparency and best value for money. Bids are first technically and then financially evaluated and contracts are awarded to the most compliant bidder.
