The Programme/Administrative Associate contributes to ensuring the effective and efficient implementation of the branches Global and Regional Intervention (GRI). S/he is instrumental in facilitating programme/ project implementation using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures in the following areas: 

• Programme

• Finance, and

• Administration

The Programme/Administrative Associate position is located in the Strategic Partnerships Branch of the Division for Communication and Strategic Partnerships (DCS) and reports to the Parliamentary Affairs Specialist, under the overall supervision of the Chief of the Branch.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• 6 years previous experience in finance and administration;
• Completion of secondary school education
•Ability to interpret and implement programme and administrative rules, regulations and      procedures and explain them clearly and concisely;
• Successful completion of the UN clerical test;
• Some experience in research assistance;
• Previous experience in the UN an advantage, and knowledge of protocol;
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
• Computer literacy - Word, Excel, Power-point, etc.;
• Good knowledge of Atlas / Peoplesoft;
• Good writing and communication skills;  
• Fluency in English is required.  Working knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
LOCAL POSITION:  Candidates applying for this position must have a valid G-4 visa (granted on the basis of duty station being USA) or USA Permanent Residency or USA Citizenship to be appointed.  Additionally, applicants must pass the UN-GGST/ASAT exam to be appointed.
