UNFPA participated in the preparation of a National Concept of Demographic Development, which became part of the country’s PRSP. In the PRSP working group on health, UNFPA took the lead in including reproductive-health and population-based gender-sensitive indicators in the PRSP policy matrix. The national reproductive health programme for 2001-2006, developed with UNFPA assistance, became an integral part of the PRSP. UNFPA proposed measures to increase access by youth to quality reproductive health information and services, and to incorporate reproductive health and gender issues into school curricula.
