Frequently Asked Questions

The UNFPA European Liaison Offices work with print, broadcast and web/online journalists to foster greater public understanding of how UNFPA’s programmes and policies advance the ICPD, the Millennium Development Goals and other international priorities.

The offices keep European journalists abreast of political, humanitarian and technical developments that affect the work of UNFPA. They organize annual launches of the State of World Population report in their respective cities and disseminate advocacy materials and press kits about the report and other activities and campaigns. They encourage NGOs to be advocates for the ICPD agenda. They also put journalists and photographers in touch with projects and personnel that can help them put a human face on the Fund’s work. From time to time, the offices facilitate fieldtrips that allow groups of journalists to see the complexities of UNFPA’s work first hand.
