Malawi Humanitarian Emergency

Malawi is among the African countries that have been affected by El Nino. Flooding and drought have displaced hundreds of thousands of individuals, with millions more unable to adequately feed themselves. Pregnant women and children are especially at risk of malnutrition, while those who have been displaced have limited access to functioning health facilities and are more vulnerable to violence. UNFPA and partners work to provide integrated sexual and reproductive health services to the populations in need and support mechanisms to prevent and respond to gender-based violence.
