5 April 2007 UNFPA Assists Displaced Families in Gaza Strip GAZA — On the 27 March at about 9.30 am, a basin of sewage burst its banks and flooded part of the Bedouin village of Um Al Nasser, in northern Gaza Strip, with 5000 inhabitants (700 families). In the disaster, two children and three women were killed and a further 24 were injured. Over 2000 persons – 333 families – were left homeless and were evacuated from the flooded village. more... |

It was organized by and for young people within the framework of the new Reproductive Health Initiative for Youth in South Caucasus, which is a partnership led by UNFPA and the European Parliamentary Forum on Population and Development, with the support of the European Union. |
