Project Title: Project on Participation and Development Rights of Adolescent Girls

Objective/s/Goal: The project aims to: increase access to education for adolescent girls; provide better sexual and reproductive health services; offer legal and social protection to girls and promote their rights; and support girls’ participation in all levels of public life. It is also working to heighten public awareness of the harmful effects of early marriage and adolescent pregnancies.

Implementing Agency/s: UNFPA, UNICEF and UNDP

Status on Project Activities

Adolescents are provided with information on family planning and HIV prevention. Particularly vulnerable adolescents, such as migrant girls, domestic workers, victims of violence and abuse and those living in the margins of the society are the focus of this project. Young people have access to reproductive health information through special radio programmes and youth centres that have been adapted to meet the needs of adolescents.
