More than 200 adolescent girls have been trained in vocational skills such as the use of compute software, journalism, music, tailoring, knitting and theatre. In periodic sessions, nearly 300 adolescents discuss sexual and reproductive health and participation rights. Ten clubs have been established for girls; local youth NGOs help train the girls in HIV/AIDS prevention and in financial management and leadership skills. Over 700 girls have participated in training on adolescent development, values, self-esteem, good parenting, leadership, sexual and reproductive health, and dealing with pressures from everyday life. Boys and girls are receiving workshops on gender sensitivity, equal rights and leadership. Youth centres have been established to provide young people with safe spaces to meet, learn skills, share information and play sports.
